Our Story

Hey there! I'm Coach Chris, a certified personal trainer & jump rope coach on a mission to bring the joy of jump rope to as many people as possible. I'm the founder of The Jump Rope Company, and with the help of my dedicated team, we've grown into a global brand and community.

"Jump Rope Changed My Life"

Growing up, I struggled to find a sport I truly belonged in. I tried everything from football and swimming to skateboarding, but nothing quite clicked. Then, at 20 years old, I picked up my first jump rope — and it changed my life.

My physical fitness improved, including my endurance, power and core strength.

My mental health improved, including my body image, stress management and confidence.

My coordination developed through better balance, body awareness and rhythm.

My confidence blossomed as I discovered an online community of jumpers who became like a second family.

2016-2018

While working full-time, I studied to become a Personal Trainer so I could help others experience the benefits of jump rope too. After completing my Level 3 diploma with FutureFit Training, I travelled to Los Angeles and San Diego to learn from professional jump rope coaches and world champions Nate KG and Mike Fry.

The experience transformed how I understood and taught jump rope. I later earned a freestyle jump rope coaching certificate from RX Smart Gear and an honorary certification from Punk Rope.

2019-2020

I began sharing jump rope across the UK, teaching clients in gyms and children in schools. Then the pandemic arrived.

While furloughed from my day job, I focused on growing the online jump rope community as thousands discovered jumping from home. I raised over £2,000 for my local hospital and its key workers and was featured by The Daily Telegraph discussing the benefits of jump rope.

Beaded ropes were still relatively unknown in the UK, so I decided to develop my own. Working with local manufacturers, I created the world's first thickened-cord beaded rope — a design that became our flagship product and a favourite among beginners and experienced jumpers alike.

2021-2022

I quit my day job on 21st February 2021. Less than a month later, on 15th March, The Jump Rope Company was born.

As demand grew, so did our team. Rope builders helped keep up with orders at HQ, while international partnerships brought our ropes to jumpers around the world. Our goal remained simple: make jump rope accessible, affordable and fun.

At our peak, we offered more than 130 colourful designs across themed collections, alongside completely bespoke ropes at no extra cost — our largest range ever.

As lockdowns eased, we began hosting free public meet-ups. By the end of 2022, we'd hosted 13 across the UK, helping hundreds of jumpers turn online friendships into real-life ones.

2023-2024

In 2023, things went truly global. We hosted free events in more than 10 countries across Southeast Asia, North America and Central Europe, bringing together thousands of jumpers. Our international partners hosted events too, growing the community from Vancouver to Berlin to Taipei.

We also delivered our first workshop for a competitive jump rope team, SGA, an all-girls team based in Denmark.

In July, I launched the beta version of Tricktionary+, a learning platform I developed and coded from scratch. It allowed jumpers to track their progress, earn badges and explore thousands of tricks and combinations.

Today, it remains the largest online resource dedicated to single-rope freestyle jump rope — another step towards making jump rope accessible, affordable and fun.

Throughout 2023 and 2024, we returned to primary and secondary schools to inspire the next generation to skip. I personally visited more than 80 schools, introducing jump rope to around 22,000 children across the UK.

2025

In 2025, we sponsored our first jump rope athlete, Elise, who competed at the World Jump Rope Championships in Japan. SGA also competed on the international stage.

We partnered with the Jump For Joy 100-Day Challenge, giving participants free access to Tricktionary+ throughout the challenge.

In June, Slush Ropes became our official USA reseller, offering our US customers faster delivery, cheaper shipping and fixed prices.

In November, we hosted the UK's first Jump Rope Convention alongside Elevate Rope and The High Jump. More than 100 jumpers from around the world joined coaches, brands and community leaders for a weekend of learning, fun and competition.

2026

In 2026, we continued expanding our coaching and global community. We coached the Scottish Skip2TheBeat jump rope team, grew our team of school coaches and travelled across Europe bringing jumpers together through events and meet-ups.

We launched our Custom Rope Builder, giving jumpers more freedom than ever to design their own beaded rope, alongside our Beginner Bundles — a simple all-in-one way to get started that quickly became one of our most popular products.

We also supported the Big Skip of '26 fundraising campaign for Rope4Hope, helping raise money on behalf of Cancer Research UK.

In September, we sponsored Krish Patel as he set out to skip the length of the UK from Land's End to John O'Groats using one of our ropes. He completed 40 marathons in 40 days — a world first — raising around £10,000 for the charities 52 Lives and the School of Kindness. We even joined him on the road for 10km as he passed through Carlisle!

Most importantly, 2026 became our biggest year yet for collaboration and unity within the jump rope community. We worked with more brands and organisations than ever before — including Elevate Rope, Dope Ropes, The High Jump, Jump Fest, MaestroWorkout, Dopamine Ropes, JumpLDN, Jump Rope Italy and Sjippetraef — coming together to create unforgettable experiences for jumpers around the world.

Our Mission

“Our mission is to bring jump rope & all its benefits to as many people as we can.”

I've experienced the benefits of jump rope myself and seen them in tens of thousands of others.

Simply put, I want the world to jump rope.
